Recommendation: We highly recommend using transportation alternatives instead of driving to Amalfi. State Road 163 (Amalfi Coast Road) was built in the 19th century. It is narrow, winding, and often congested during tourist season. Driving restrictions are in place and can be found here:

Coming from the North, here are your options:
- Take the A3 Naples–Salerno highway toward Salerno and exit at Castellammare di Stabia. Continue on SS 366 toward Agerola, then follow SS 163 toward Amalfi until km 29.2
- Take the A3 Naples–Salerno highway toward Salerno and exit at Vietri sul Mare. Then follow SS 163 until km 30.5
- Take the A3 Naples–Salerno highway toward Salerno and exit at Angri Sud. Follow signs to Valico di Chiunzi, Amalfi Coast, Tramonti. Take SP2 toward Tramonti for about 15 km. At the pass, continue to Maiori, then join SS 163 and follow the coast to Amalfi (km 30.5)
- Take the A30 Caserta–Salerno highway to the Salerno exit, then follow SS 163 to km 30.5
Coming from the South
